The Patricia Veale School of Dance prepares to move to new home at The Mount


 

We are delighted to announce The Mount’s new partnership with The Patricia Veale School of Dance. This new partnership which will see the established dance school move into brand new studios at The Mount from January 2023.  

 

The Patricia Veale School of Dance is one of the most established dance schools in York with an excellent reputation of producing highly trained dancers in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap and modern dance. From January 2023, PV Dance will host its classes at a brand-new custom-built studio located in the original Junior School building and accessed via Dalton Terrace. PV Dance offers classes for all ages from pre school, children, teenagers and adults in RAD classical ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance. 

Kelly Clarey, Owner and Principal Teacher of PV Dance said: “We are thrilled to be in partnership with The Mount School to create a brand new and modern purpose-built dance studio for PV Dance. The new studio, changing rooms and waiting area are designed to meet our needs, allowing us to develop our goal of creating enjoyment and creativity in dance movement and encouraging pupils to strive towards a professional level. We are really looking forward to working with The Mount School who we know share our love of dance and the Arts. 

 

Building work on the new Dance Studio begins at the school over the summer holidays.

The Patricia Veale School of Dance was founded by Patricia Veale in the 1960’s at the Acomb Church Hall on Front Street in York. It subsequently moved to 6 – 8, Regent Buildings in Acomb, York. Kelly Clarey, formally known as Mickela Clarey, daughter of the late Patricia Veale is now the owner and principal teacher at the dance school and continues to maintain the well-known reputation of her mother. Kelly is a former professional dancer and tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance.
