With so much to choose from, it’s important you have all the help you need in making the decisions that will shape your futures. We do this by equipping you with knowledge of the world of employment and career opportunities available, without any old-fashioned stereotypes getting in the way, and we’ll encourage you to pursue your dreams.
Careers & Future Advice
Advice is tailored to each individual pupil, encouraging you to discover and strive for your goals. Our outstanding Careers Department offers every pupil one-to-one support. They will help you make considered choices and decisions in relation to your anticipated careers and occupations. You will also find inspiration and guidance through regular talks and seminars planned with guest speakers. We regularly welcome guests from a variety of careers including leading women from our alumnae community who are happy to share their experiences and inspirational stories. We also enable work experience, job shadowing and insight days.
Whichever path you choose to take we will provide you with the support and knowledge to make confident decisions about your future.
UCAS Support
You will receive extensive support with your UCAS applications. Guidance is highly personalised and tailored to each pupil to ensure you make the right decision for yourself.We guide you and your parents through the process of applying to university, helping you to make best use of the resources and support available. We will help you identify the course which is the best fit for you, leaving you ready and excited for the next step ahead.
We give specific guidance for pupils wishing to apply to Oxbridge or to study medicine, dentistry and veterinary science. All pupils take part in interview preparation for university and work placements. We maintain close connections with many universities, and we have an impressive track-record of helping girls to decide upon and reach their first-choice destinations.
Further Studies
We appreciate that you may not wish to attend University and take a different path. We are also highly experienced in helping pupils with non-UCAS applications of all types, including for study overseas, apprenticeships or Art Foundation courses. In addition, we are able to offer bespoke support and contacts if you decide to apply for an Apprenticeship or if you wish to take a Gap Year before your next step in life.
Mount girls have gone on to do voluntary work overseas, work in Ski Resorts, study Art Foundation courses, attend Policing College, study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and the prestigious Norland College, to study Early Years’ Childcare Development. Most recently girls have taken up Apprenticeships with Greencore, Convenience Food Producers in Business Management and in Veterinary Medicine at the Green Vets Surgery.
