Rounders Victory for College II’s Final Fixture

It’s been a fantastic week of rounders fixtures at The Mount plus College II’s last ever competitive Mount fixture.

On Saturday, the U12 and U13s travelled to Terrington Hall. As well as the wonderful weather, there was great play from both sides. The U12s won their match and the U13 team came 2nd. Both teams displayed great progress with their athletic skills and teamwork. Congratulations to India, Emma and Ruby who were named Players of the Match.

This afternoon, we welcomed the sunshine and St Peter’s School for College II’s final fixture. Unfortunately, it also coincided with the A Level PE exam, meaning many of the team were not able to play. Despite the missing members the girls showed great team spirt and some excellent fielding. The match finished in a win to The Mount. The College team remains undefeated this season – a fitting end to their sporting career at The Mount School.

Rounders is a great sport for the Summer Term, not only is fun but it engages all pupils. It is a tactical and strategic game that requires excellent teamwork and communication. Everyone in the team matters – it’s all about teamwork! Furthermore playing, rounders masters fundamental movement skills. With batting, striking, running and catching, Rounders permits pupils to read their environment and make appropriate decisions, allowing them to move confidently and with control in a wide range of physical activity situations.
