Over the weekend, boarders, and day pupils from year 10 – College attended the capital of London, to study the arts and culture of the city and visit the galleries.
Delving into the immersive world of Contemporary Applied Arts, the group had the chance to appreciate the craftsmanship involved in designing and making ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery, wood, and metalwork.
The afternoon was spent at the Tate Modern, where they viewed a solo exhibition by textile artist, Abakanowicz and enjoyed the gallery’s vast permanent collection of extraordinary pieces. Concluding their visit, the girls were able to experience London in the countdown to Christmas and walk through the Christmas markets.
