On Friday evening the boarders delighted staff as they beautifully performed Christmas Carols along the spiral staircase in the Boarding House.
Carols on the Stairs is a very long-standing Mount tradition, by which boarders dress up and gather to sing on the boarding house stairs with candles. This year had the benefit of full musical accompaniment, with Mr Tong on violin and Dr Passmore on piano, with several staff joining in with the songs, and others watching this lovely atmospheric event from Central Hall.
Friday’s proceedings were led by chorist Mrs Passmore, who designed the superb programme to shine a light on our wonderfully diverse boarding community.
This was followed by the Boarders’ Christmas dinner, where a delicious meal was served in the Dining Hall with fanfare, crackers and an abundance of festive merriment. The festivities continued with a disco in the Main Hall. Boarders particularly liked being able to make requests to the DJ and a fabulous evening was had by all.
