Why Board?

Why Board?

"It's like family. Everyone is really friendly." - Eleanor S8 (Year 8)

"It feels like home." - Sara, S9 (Year 9)

"It's exciting and fun because there are lots of things to do." - Anika, S9 (Year 9)

"A place to learn about different countries and cultures." - Nicole, S9 (Year 9)

An education at The Mount allows each girl to fulfil her potential for academic and personal excellence. Boarding life in School House and College House is an enriching experience where the girls are encouraged to live adventurously by trying new things and making the most of the opportunities that are available to them.

"Making friends with people who are as crazy as you are; eating toast with toffee sauce after Prep." - Tamara, S11 (Year 11)

"A home away from home." - Ria, S11 (Year 11)

This pioneering girls' school was established in 1785 to provide 'a superior education for leaders of the future.'  We may say it differently these days, but our aims remain the same: to provide a first-class education by developing the girls' individual strengths and celebrating their achievements. Each pupil is valued for who she is. This is especially so in the boarding community.
