Year 9 girls attended Aesthetica, York’s own BAFTA-qualifying international film festival, for their exciting Youth Engagement Day.
Girls viewed and were invited to critically review two reels of short films which were specially curated for young people age 11-14 years.
Their votes counted toward the York Youth Award was given out on the festival’s closing night to Lasagne, directed by Hannah Hill.
“Lasagne was an interesting film with an unexpected ending. Being a film critic for the morning was … I think we had too much power in our hands.” – Carolina
