‘Think and Live Adventurously’ is one of our school values and we give pupils of all ages the chance to do just that!
We believe that every pupil should experience the world beyond the classroom
As well as enhancing the curriculum and learning, opportunities to explore and travel are an essential part of personal development. Day trips take place for pupils of all ages, these include, among many others, trips to museums, galleries, universities and theatres. We take advantage of the wide range of cultural opportunities locally in York and Yorkshire. Theses trips give pupils the chance to put learning into action, and experience first-hand many of the concepts they have covered in the classroom.
A sense of adventure and curiosity is fostered from a young age
In The Mount Junior School pupils from Year 2 participate in an annual residential trip. Here they have the opportunity to participate in outward bound and adventure activities. The activities chosen are ideally suited to younger children providing a perfect introduction to outdoor learning as well as the opportunity to make memories to last a life time.
Adventures, travelling and new experiences expand the mind
Throughout their time in Senior School, girls have many opportunities to travel further afield. There are a number of overseas trips through departments and extra-curricular opportunities. These adventure trips provide girls with the opportunity to experience new cultures, gaining first-hand knowledge and experience to enhance their academic studies. Time away from home and school allows girls to develop friendships and make lifelong memories, whilst gaining independence and self-confidence. It is our hope that girls leave the School with a thirst for travelling and with sufficient independence to enter the next stage of their lives.
