Pupils in the Junior School were offered a taste of Italy this choc lunch as part of their exploration of foods from around the world.
The girls regularly take part in ‘taste buddies’ sessions, which allow them to sample a wide variety of traditional dishes and local delicacies from different countries.
In the first session of the new term, the girls enjoyed patatas bravas, a famous appetiser native to Spain. This week, the destination of choice was Italy as pupils tucked into a delectable offering of tiramisu. After tasting the food, the pupils have their passports stamped to show that they have visited the ‘destination’ and can check the country off the list.
Famed for its pizza and pasta, and abundance of delicious foods, there was plenty to choose from to embody Italian cuisine. Ultimately, the sweet treat of tiramisu was picked to represent the country.
Despite it being the first time trying this dish for many, the coffee-flavoured dessert went down extremely well with everyone, with many of the girls quick to form a queue for seconds. Safe to say, it proved to be the perfect “pick me up” to see the children through until lunchtime.
